Design duo Viviane Jaeger and Emma Jayne Parkes have found a fun way to smile when it rains! www.squidlondon.com Rainwear - first ever colour changing couture when wet. SquidLondon had to splash 30 buckets of water to get the shot we wanted. Imagine trying to find a photo studio where water is allowed... The photo shoot team ended up at a horse stable in Oxford. SquidLondon have launched their latest outerwear collection, taking colour changing couture to a glossy new plateau. Inspired by Jackson Pollock, the team first created their "walking piece of art " (Deutsche Bank) in the form of umbrellas that are now stocked in the prestigious MoMA, the British Museum, Saatchi Gallery and Tate. This time round their award-winning "squidarellas" have inspired the "Opera Icons " line, which consists of two jackets and a trenchcoat, perfect on that woman exuding presence, artistic flair and style. When dry, the garments are a chic and understated monochrome. Once the rain interacts with this smart material, a vibrant burst of colourful flowers pop up. A fashion statement to brighten even the gloomiest of London afternoons! Haute couture embroiderer Charlotte La Roche and couture pattern cutter Vlasta Collu helped SquidLondon in the creation of the coats, which appear in three different designs and three embroideries.
